Green Truck Moving Company, along with, Live2Aspire and independent local billboard artist, Starlito, joined together for the 100 Dreams Turkey Drive at the Kirkpatrick Community Center in East Nashville on Wednesday November 25th. Together the trio, along with the Martha Obryan Center’s Executive Chef Keith Batts, fed over 200 families in the East Nashville community.

The goal going into the 100 Dreams Turkey Drive was to feed families of four or more in the East Nashville community. The dinners, prepared by Chef Keith Batts, included one whole turkey, precooked green beans, potatoes, stuffing and a two-liter Coca-Cola product.

The event was held at East Nashville’s Kirkpatrick Community Center. Families in need lined up throughout the center to receive a box containing the dinner items. As families exited the building, they received a turkey off The Green Truck. As a group, overall, 200 turkeys were purchased and around 200 families were fed in the East Nashville community.

“This event was important to us because every leader of the organizations involved in this effort is a product and resident of the East Nashville community,” said Clinton Gray III, Director of Marketing for The Green Truck Moving Company.

That evening, Live2Aspire coordinated with local Metro School guidance counselors to pinpoint 20 local families in need that would be unable to make their way to the Kirkpatrick Community Center. These families were hand delivered full turkey dinners by artist Starlito and The Green Truck using reusable Eco-Crammers. The dinners delivered were complete with Fried Turkeys prepared by local catering company U-KNO Catering.

The vision for the 100 Dreams Turkey Drive 2014 is to make it a city-wide event and serve as the primary corporate sponsor with inspiration led by Live2Aspire. It is hoped that the event will be moved to the Music City Convention Center downtown as a central meal pickup location for families on all sides of town. The overall goal for next year is set at feeding 1000 families. As a company, Green Truck will commit to closing services for a day to deliver meals to at least 100 families personally in The Green Truck fleet.
